Short coat with layered cashmere waistcoat
This short coat, designed in waterproof coated cotton, reinterprets the codes of outerwear with an inverted construction that is the hallmark of the Barrie x Mackintosh collaboration. The usually concealed facing becomes a visible feature, while the cashmere lining, inspired by an iconic Barrie waistcoat, is displayed on the outside for a unique trompe l'oeil effect.
The fluid cut, structured by a shoulder line offset towards the back, is inspired by knitwear to ensure comfort and modernity. The meticulous details, such as the embroidered Scottish cross on the back and the eyelets reworked in the shape of a St Andrews cross, are testament to the technical savoir-faire developed in the Mackintosh ateliers especially for this capsule collection. This unisex coat can be worn with or without its cashmere lining, fastened with exclusive metal buttons adorned with the Scottish cross. The jacket fastens with the same buttons, while two hand-painted porcelain buttons embellish the pockets of the cashmere waistcoat.
Inside the coat, a strip of rubberised tape is applied by hand to the cuffs and lower body to prevent water from rising up the fabric, and the famous Mackintosh waterproofing strips, also applied by hand, punctuate the interior with the House's iconic graphic motif.
Available in navy blue or chocolate brown with a navy blue lining, this piece combines technical expertise and exceptional knitwear.
This coat is the result of a collaboration between Barrie and Mackintosh, two Scottish houses with complementary savoir-faire. This collection explores new shapes and techniques for a truly contemporary vision of outerwear.
The model is 1.81m tall and is wearing a size S/M.

Subtle detail
Discreetly placed under the sleeves, the traditional ventilation eyelets take the form of a Scottish cross, a subtle nod to the shared origins of the two Houses.
