Each month, Barrie invites a friend of the House to answer three questions: three adjectives that describe their style, three words that define Barrie, and three favorite addresses from their personal guidebook. And as a bonus: the extra question!
On the occasion of the opening of the Barrie pop-up at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann, we met with Alix Morabito, Global Buying Director of the Parisian department store.

3 adjectives to describe your style?
My style is creative, yet timeless — in the sense that it’s never too tied to a particular season. Sophisticated but effortless — I don’t like when it feels a bit forced. And I’d add feminine with a touch of sexiness, but always functional to fit my everyday life.
3 words to define Barrie
Craftsmanship, because this Scottish institution draws from its heritage while continuing to innovate. Timelessness: to me, Barrie doesn’t tell a fashion story but rather one of elegance and quality. And comfort, because Barrie’s wardrobe feels reassuring, cozy — you just want to wrap yourself in it.

3 favourite Parisian addresses to share?
The Beans on Fire (
@thebeansonfire
) — the perfect spot for a morning coffee under the trees of Square Gardette. The Bibliothèque Nationale, rue de Richelieu — a wonderful place to spend a rainy afternoon. Kunitoraya (
@kunitoraya
), in the Japanese district — they serve the best udon noodles and tempura in the city!
The extra question: Barrie has just set up at Galeries Lafayette Haussmann for an exclusive pop-up. Why is that a good idea?
Winter has settled in and the holiday season is just around the corner. It’s the perfect time to welcome Barrie and invite our clients to discover—or rediscover—this iconic Scottish cashmere brand. Whether it’s the pleasure of wrapping up in exceptional knitwear, the desire to own a (soon-to-be collector!) piece from the Barrie x Mackintosh collaboration, or the wish to offer a timeless gift, Barrie is a truly beautiful destination under the dome of our Parisian department store.
